Aquaponics : Ready and Waiting

All are waiting to be relocated... We might not have enough growbed for them; however, we did place five Okra in a growbed before and growing pretty well.

The rest are Cucumber and winter gourd.

Aquaponics : Growbed Two

If I remember correctly these gourds are winter gourds...and ready to crawl...

Aquaponics : Squash, Cherry Tomato, Tomato

Have them sowed this morning in the growbed eight... Let's observe for a week.

Squash and tomato seeds are those from mylestary.

Aquaponics : Weekly View

The beans in growbed One is about 3 inches long... Should be alright to harvest them in one or two weeks. Lettuces are due here..

Gourds in growbed Two are health and will start to climb in a week.

Have the Mulberry trimmed and left only a 🌿 let's see if we can maintain it.

About time to pull off the Okra in growbed Four.

Another gourd in growbed Five is healthy as well.

Passion fruit is climbing now in growbed six.

Okra,  lettuce and cherry tomatoes in growbed seven will be in Production in a week.

Sword bean in growbed eight still not seeing an flower... Could be some challenge here. Mulberry, relocated from growbed Two, is back in action.

Lettuces in growbed nine is ready for harvest. Still have four Okra and winter gourd and Cucumber awaiting to be relocated.

Aquaponics : Growbed Eight

Cleaned and fixed the clogging here.. Totally new look... Awaiting to 'deploy'... Ready and waiting...

Pulled off for veggies

Aquaponics : Growbed Six

Shifted the Cabbages, which supposed to be due last week, to soil based.

The cherry tomato plant was facing challenges and moved to growbed Three. Let's observe it for few days.

What's left is the passion fruit... Will plant lettuce here too...

Aquaponics : Growbed Three

Pulled off the cucumbers in the morning; however, not be able to clean the growbed entirely as th Mulberry is on its way.... Will just leave it as it is for now.

Total cucumbers harvested were about 64.. 32/plant.

Aquaponics : Growbed Five

Taken out the luffa and getting ready for the next plant to be shifted in.

Total luffa harvested for this season is about 99.

Let's assume it is winter gourd.

Aquaponics : Small Onion

Have no idea when was this planted in growbed Five... Maybe was planted by my wife...

Aquaponics : The Old Time

Sometimes think that might need to disrupt this normal routine but always ended up doing the same routine...  😂

Aquaponics : Unplugged

Time to unplug the luffa (growbed five) and Cucumber (growbed three)...

Aquaponics : New Source for Seeds

We have just purchased some seeds from an online source in Malaysia,  http://www.mylestaryseeds.com.my/

Maybe it is good idea for you to explore this option and of course we have NOTHING to do with their business.  Just for you to explore.   ☺️

Aquaponics : Growbed Five... Starting to clog

This s not new... As our previous experience with luffa.... Clogged in the end... We have already harvested 85th on last Sunday.

Aquaponics : Okra in Action

In Growbed Four,  Okra, currently in production...sweatin whenever thinking of its root....a new strategy is to be used.. Plant one first then transplant another one when the earlier one in production.

Aquaponics : Mulberry in Growbed Three

Still yet to learn how to trim this.. Haha... Unlike the one planted in the soil, have not spotted any Mulberry.

Aquaponics : Gourd

Glad that the unknown gourds,  we have relocated the other day,  from growbed nine to growbed Two,  look healthy...

We have also cut off the bitter gourds and moved the dying mulberry to growbed eight...

Aquaponics : Weekly Update

Some quick view on our growbed in the main system. Currently, we are still maintaining weekly harvest...

Aquaponics : Reduce the pump height

Dropped one feet lower to have better water pressure...Looks like it worked and better flow rate now.

Aquaponics : Venturi Injector In Action

Alright! Downed the pipe a feet more. Let's see the venturi injector in action...

All for the main flow

Less for Main flow...

All for venturi flow...
Believe there should not be any DO issue from this point...anyway, let's observe...

4 hours later...

Aquaponics : Venturi Injectors

Testing these venturi injectors to improve DO; the result is yet to be observed. However, no doubt air pump is needed...

25mm venturi injector for the main system.

20mm for the blue system.

Will update further when ready. Stay tuned.

Aquaponics : Addition Pump For Big Blue System

We have placed an additional small water pump for aeration until the new venturi is to be placed in coming weekend. Looking forward to have better aeration for the coming weeks. . Fingers crossed! ! !

Aquaponics : Ouch...Hopefully No Harm Done

Yap... The sword bean is growing well...

Aquaponics : Unknown Plants

Haha... Forgotten what have sowed the other day... Relocating them to growbed Two from growbed nine, planning to pull out bitter gourds in two weeks.

Aquaponics : Wrap Up For October 2016

Let's wrap up for October 2016.
Expecting to have lower figure for November as it is a transition period which we might need to clean up growbeds, rebalancing the water flow and improve DO level...moreover , it is a rainy season now.
We believe huge amount of rain water has created impacts to this tiny ecology (acidic???). The most obvious observation is on jade perches. . . . They used to be shy and hiding but now they are gasping on the surface without even care that there were eyes staring at them. . . Anyway,  we have placed an additional water pump to maintain better DO and better water circulation.
Further reminded me the last October incident where we witnessed the tilapia..trying to escape from the problematic water quality. This year we are lucky enough and further improvement needed.

Aquaponics : Water and Air

Sometimes,  you might want to fully utilize your aquaponics resources... Especially for improving DO.

There are two words you might want to search in Google if you are thinking of using water pump as air pump or air pump as water pump... Venturi... Airlift...

Anyway,  we do really in need of an air pump. . . . For flexibility. . .
