Aquaponics : Orchid

Relocated this orchid from an old pot downstairs to growbed eight.. Inspired by a friend. Let's monitor what will happened.

Aquaponics : Cabbage vs Cabbages

Alright... Yes.. It is about aquaponics and Soil base.

These Cabbages were sowed and sprouted at the same time in the growbed six. We moved one of them into the soil and left three in growbed.

It looks like the one in the soil base (below) grows bigger and healthier. Maybe it is due to the fish water and poop we pump in during the denitification activity.

Aquaponics: Another 2.9KG today

Looks like cucumber is overtaking luffa; however, lower quantity for bitter gourd.

As mentioned, our goal is to explore how far this system can go (maintain weekly harvest) with the available resources we have now.

Aquaponics : Flash Update

Don't be surprise that we have forgotten what seeds we have placed in our growbed...

Believe that there were three French beans sprouted in growbed one...Not to forget a passion fruit together with three cabbages in growbed six;  a pumpkin in growbed four.

We are expecting these plants will prolong the weekly harvest target in the coming months.

Let's wrap up for the period of 19 sept 2016 to 19 Oct 2016 as shown in the figure.

Hopefully this can be the reference for those who want to commercialize the media bed aquaponics.

Prices here are based on the real market price.

Aquaponics : Weekly Highlight From APTG18

Let's have a look at what we have now.

Growbed one,  Nothing much... Letting The lettuces grow by themselves...

Bed two,  the little mulberry should be stable by now. We are planning to move it to the bed 8.

The bittergourd in bed 2 are not good at all... There is a pull off decision is pending execution.

Bed 3, the cucumbers are flowering expecting to be in production in a week.

Should be fruiting too...

Bed 4, okra

Bed 5, luffa, starting to crawl like there is no tomorrow...look up if you pass by our farm, you will know what we mean. :)

Bed 6, three cabbages here...  Planning to relocate one of them but not sure where to relocate it to..

Bed 7, cherry tomatoes, lettuces and cabbage.
Bed 8, okra
Bed 9, 33 pots combination of leafy veggies.

Our old gutter system is history for now.  Planning to relocate them to enhance our space used.

Finally,  an enhanced flow system to improve flexibility of the one pump system.

So far, we are having an average of 2kg crops per week.

Aquaponics : Our Solar Energy Aquaponics System

Eventually, finished the additional growbed, growbed nine, for the simple big blue tank...

This is the simplest set as below:

1. Fish tank
2. Three growbeds
3. Two water pumps, for aeration and to the growbed.
4. Consumes 36 watt hourly powered with solar power system.
5. Backup power should be able to run the sytem for 3 days.
